# Why and How Should I Use Individual Rules?

## Answer

You should use individual rules when you want to precisely define how and when bids are adjusted or when keywords or ASINs are edited– either independently or in addition to your existing automation. The process is simple: Each rule follows an IF-THEN logic. As soon as a defined condition is met, the associated action is automatically executed. This allows you, for example, to specifically increase or decrease bids or to control which keyword actions are triggered.

Besides continuously running rules, you also have the option to create one-off, scheduled actions using the **New One Time Rule** feature.

## Accessing the Function

To create individual rules, open your desired segment in **Segment Management**. Within the segment, select either **New individual rule** or **New One Time Rule**.

You can find more information on individual rules here.
