# What Types of Alerts and Messages Does the Notification Bell Show?

## Overview

The notification bell shows you two types of information: general **Notifications** and especially important **Required Actions**. When needed, system-wide alerts also appear as a red bar at the top of the application, often with a link **Check our status page** for more details. Each entry displays the **title**, a short message text, a **timestamp**, and the relevant **topic badge**. With **Mark all as read**, you can clear all unread entries at once, and with **Load more**, you can view older notifications.

For new notifications, a small pop-up window appears at the bottom right, briefly informing you. Clicking on it – if a target is set – takes you directly to more details or to the notification view.

## Accessing the Function

You’ll find the notification bell at the top right in the top bar as a **bell icon**.
For a complete list of your messages, scroll to the bottom of the popup and select **Show all notifications**.

## Notification Overview

### Categories in the Bell

- **Notifications:** All notifications are collected here, including system, general, success, custom, and actionable messages.
- **Required Actions:** This category only shows notifications that require immediate action from you.

### Types of Notifications

- **General Notifications:** Alerts such as information that an export (from Discover/Dashboard) is finished. These often include a link to the relevant section.
- **Success Message:** Confirmation that an action has been completed successfully, e.g. campaign creation.
- **Action Required:** Points out issues that need your attention, such as problems with the Amazon connection, segment setup, or errors with media assets.
- **Tags:** Notifications can have different tags to clarify their context.

### Examples of Notifications

- Dashboard export finished
- Discover export finished
- Amazon token expired (renew connection)
- Segment management setup incomplete
- Error in campaign creation
- Campaign creation successful
- Segment creation successful
- Campaign Creator: Creative creation failed
- Campaign Creator: Partial actions success/fail
- AMC status notifications
- System status notifications

## Settings & Options

The texts and titles of notifications are automatically displayed in your preferred language. Terms in the bell, like **Notifications**, **Required Actions**, and **Mark all as read**, are also localized. Topic badges are based on platform sections, such as **Dashboard**, **System**, or **Scheduling**.

## Limitations & Special Notes

- **Required Actions** are always clearly highlighted and appear at the very top of the notification area.
- The bell always shows you the current number of unread messages, regardless of type.
- The overview in the full view is organized by pages. Very old messages may occasionally be hidden to ensure good performance.
- Real-time pop-ups require an active internet connection. After a connection interruption, new messages are loaded automatically as soon as you’re back online.

## Tips & Best Practices

- Always check the **Required Actions** section first so you don’t miss any urgent tasks or deadlines.
- After reviewing messages, use **Mark all as read** to keep everything organized.
- Look for topic badges (**System**, **Scheduling**, **Amazon Connection**) to quickly find the relevant area.
- For system notifications, click on **Check our status page** to stay informed at all times.
- Use pop-up notifications to jump directly to the relevant details when needed.
