# Why Is My Data Incorrect?

## Answer

The most common reasons for data discrepancies are delays in incoming data, different attribution windows, or mismatched filters such as **Date Range** or showing and hiding “hidden” or archived items. On Amazon, advertising costs can be reported up to 72 hours later. Other settings like **Dashboard Currency**, the selection of marketplaces or active profiles, and which data is visible (archived/hidden) also impact the totals shown in both systems.

To view comparable numbers, check the following: Are the **date range** and **currency** set the same as in Amazon? Are you using the same filters, and are the same elements shown or hidden in both BidX and Amazon? In most cases, the numbers will align after this. If there’s still a difference, you can refresh your data by using **Reload Amazon Data**.

If that still doesn’t solve it, BidX Support is happy to help you further.

## Accessing the Function

To check your settings and filters, you’ll find the relevant options here:

- In the **Dashboard**, use the **Date Range** or **Date Filter** to select the period you want to view.
- Under **Settings** and then **Tool Settings**, you can set the **Attribution Window in the Dashboard**.
- In the **Regional Settings** under **Language & Currency**, you set your preferred currency.
- When creating or editing your dashboard, you set the **Dashboard Currency**.

## Limitations & Special Notes

- Amazon can take up to 72 hours to provide all advertising cost data. This means for very recent dates like “Today” or “Yesterday,” it’s normal for numbers to differ.
- The attribution window varies by product type: **Sponsored Products** generally use 7 days, while **Sponsored Brands** or **Sponsored Display** often use 14 days. In BidX, you can set this under **Attribution Window in the Dashboard**. Special views, like search terms, may use shorter attribution windows, which can also cause differences.
- A **Temporary Date Range** only overrides the current view and may not be saved in all overviews.
- Different currency settings can cause the totals to differ depending on the exchange rate used.
- In BidX, **hidden** or **archived items** are usually hidden by default, while Amazon might include them in totals.
- The selection of marketplaces (e.g., **All Marketplaces** or individual country sites) and active profiles determines which data you see.
- Overlapping time zones affect day boundaries and, therefore, the counting of “Yesterday” or “Today.”

## Tips & Best Practices

- Always compare the chosen **Date Range** or **Date Filter** with the **Reporting Period** in Amazon.
- In the dashboard, set the **Attribution Window** to match what you expect in Amazon (e.g., 7 or 30 days).
- Make sure that both systems are displaying amounts in the same currency.
- Check whether “hidden” or “archived” items are hidden in BidX but shown in Amazon.
- For the most recent days, wait up to 72 hours before comparing cost totals.
- If you still have questions, contact BidX Support. Please include the date range, attribution window, currency, and the affected view to get fast help.
