# Can I See the Data Used to Calculate the Displayed Value of a Chart?

## Overview

Dashboard elements, also known as charts, clearly display important metrics and their development. With each chart, you always have direct access to the underlying values. This lets you easily track how all displayed values are calculated.

## Accessing the Function

You can access your data through the main menu by clicking on **Dashboards**. There, choose the desired chart via **Actions** > **Configure**, or create a new chart using **Add Element**.

## Step-by-Step Guide

### Step 1: Open the appropriate dashboard

To display the right set of charts, first select the relevant **Dashboard** from the dropdown menu at the top. Use **Dashboards** to switch between existing dashboards. With **Settings** (⋮ icon), you can access additional dashboard options like export, templates, or global target values.

### Step 2: Select a chart

Now select the chart for which you want to see the underlying values. Hover over it and open the **context menu** of the desired chart, then choose **Configure**.

### Step 3: Analyze the data

You will now see a **Data Table** below the chart, listing all the data shown in the chart. All values selected for the chart will be displayed here.

## Limitations & Special Notes

- An **Excel Export** option is only available for charts of the **Data Table** type.
- When working with large data volumes, loading times can vary significantly. If this happens, use pagination and sorting functions for better clarity and performance.

## Tips & Best Practices

- For data you use regularly, it's a good idea to set up your own dashboard with relevant **Data Table** charts.
- For graphic charts, check if there is a **Data Table** option available, so you can view raw data directly.
