# Can I Change the Reference Values of a Scorecard From Absolute to Relative?

## Overview

Scorecards give you a clear, compact overview of the development of your key performance indicators (KPIs) on a dashboard. With the **Scorecard Display Mode**, you can set whether scorecards show the absolute change by default or the percentage (relative) change. No matter which default you select, you can always compare both values quickly: If you hover your mouse over a scorecard, the other value will be shown as additional information.

## Accessing the Function

You can find the **Scorecard Display Mode** option in the **dashboard settings**. To do this, first open the dashboard you want, then click the **Options menu in the top bar**. There, select **Dashboard Settings**. Within this dialog, you'll find the **Scorecard Display Mode** section, where you can choose your preferred display format.

## Step-by-Step Guide

### Step 1: Open the Dashboard

First, open the dashboard in question. Click on the **Options menu** in the top bar (the three-dot button), then choose **Dashboard Settings**.

### Step 2: Adjust the Option

Scroll to the **Scorecard Display Mode** section in the dialog that appears. You’ll see a dropdown with the options **Absolute** and **Relative**.  
- If you select **Absolute**, scorecards will show the absolute change by default (for example, “Absolute change: +200 €”).  
- If you select **Relative**, the percent change will be shown as default (e.g. “+20%”).

### Step 1: Create a Dashboard

When creating a new dashboard, you can set your preferred Scorecard Display Mode right from the start. Just go to the **Options menu** and select **Add Dashboard**.

### Step 2: Choose the Option

In the **Create New Dashboard** dialog, you’ll find the **Scorecard Display Mode** field. Here you can select either **Absolute** or **Relative**:  
- **Absolute**: Scorecards show absolute changes by default.  
- **Relative**: Percent change is shown as the default.

Confirm your selection and create the dashboard by clicking **Create**. The default you choose here will apply to all scorecards on this new dashboard.

### Compare Both Values at a Glance – Switch View Temporarily

If you want to quickly see both values without changing the Scorecard Display Mode, just hover your mouse over a scorecard. Next to the standard value, the alternative value will also appear. There’s no need to save any settings, and you can use this for all scorecards.

## Settings & Options

In the **dashboard settings**, you can also choose the **dashboard currency**. This affects how currency metrics are displayed, but doesn’t impact whether scorecards display absolute or relative values.

## Limitations & Special Notes

- Any setting for the **Scorecard Display Mode** always applies to the entire dashboard and all scorecards it contains.
- Scorecard Display Mode is not available on AMC dashboards and cannot be changed there.
- No matter which mode you choose, you can always see the other value by hovering over the scorecard.
- By default, scorecards use “Absolute” view unless you change it.

## Tips & Best Practices

- Use **Relative values** as your standard if you want to compare trends regardless of the actual numbers, e.g. between different accounts or marketplaces.
- Use **Absolute values** if the actual value difference matters most to you – for example, for budget decisions or when you need to assess total volume.
- It’s best to choose your preferred mode when creating a new dashboard to avoid changes later.
- Use the hover effect to see both key figures at once whenever you need, without having to switch your standard view.
